James McMurtry - 60 Acres
Why am I a James McMurtry fan? Because he actually takes an honest look at people and places and sees where we're headed. No sentimentality or affected angst.
Thanks for posting the McMurtry video. Great song.
Not sure why, but it made me think of "Resplendent", a song about the Dust Bowl by Bill Mallonnee & the Vigilantes of Love, with Emmylou Harris on background vocals. You can check that out here.
McMurtry is one of the greatest song writter/singers I have seen ever. Got to take it the Wednesday night usual before Thanksgiving and he delivered more than expected. I am a big fan and love his insight and purpose (just like his old man) but does anyone have the story behind "no More Bufflalo"? Pretty sure there was a point where he had

I think you're right about the link between the two songs. This theme comes up again and again in McMurtry's work.
